As assistant director for venues, Ryan Schmit assists with the day-to-day operations of both the Wick Alumni Center and Nebraska Champions Club, oversees maintenance and capital improvement projects and coordinates with vendors. In addition, Schmit manages parking lot activities at the Nebraska Champions Club on game days. He is also responsible for setting up the facilities for multiple events throughout the year.

Schmit joined the Nebraska Alumni Association in April 2011. Previously, he spent seven years working for UNL Housing in the maintenance department at Abel Hall.

A native of David City, Neb., Schmit graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2010 with a degree in English. Ryan and his wife, Paula, have a daughter, Madison, 2.
